I'll see your blonde bimbo and raise you one aging hippie.

I just sent Hillary ten bucks.  Don't laugh, if you saw my bank account, you would know that $10.00 is a major commitment on my part.  Plus, I sent her $10.00 earlier in the primary season so I am only $2,280 away from being a fat cat who can't contribute anymore until the fall election.  Having written that, however, I am also aware that Mitt Romney in one of those moments that often moves a candidate up in the eyes of his party - John Edwards has achieved in his graceful departure what he never could in his campaign: a platform for his views - has suspended his campaign.  Therefore, I am during a little insurance kicking of the McCain "Straight Talk Express" tires.

Now, I don't now if the blonde bimbo who shall forever remain nameless on this blog or Glen "my ass hurts we need to reform the health care system" Beck would actually vote for HRC if Senator McCain is nominated; my gut feeling is no but we'll find out come Election Day by the circling of flying pigs.  I certainly hope they both have to make that decision because that will mean that I will be voting for Hillary.  Still, I am grappling with my own vision of flying pigs: voting for a Republican over the first African American presidential nominee in either party.  As a woman who has prayed for the day when a person of color would be the Commander in Chief, how can I even consider not voting for him?

I am divided from what may very well become the mainstream of my party going forward, the wing led by Senator Barack Obama.  Because I support Senator Clinton I have been made to feel as though I am a racist, because I am an older woman who supports Senator Clinton I have been made to feel out of touch, that the parade has passed for me.  I know, because hey I was young in 1972, that eras do change, parties evolve but I don't like the way my party is evolving: it appears to be headed toward a cult of personality.  For all of his talk of inclusion, Senator Obama's supporters seem to be decidedly exclusive.  I can believe that he is leading us toward a political utopia or I can get off the bus; well, maybe this is my stop.

Just please, dear God, let Senator McCain give Mike Huckabee an ambassadorship and Senator Graham the bottom half of the ticket or else this will be the first presidential election in which I don't cast a vote.
